This page describes how the platform works today, and we keep it current as the product changes. It is not legal advice.
Cancelling
Cancel from inside the workspace at any time. You do not need to write to us, and there is no retention flow designed to make it difficult.
Cancelling stops the next charge and leaves the current period running to its end. You keep what you paid for.
What happens to your data afterwards
The workspace stays reachable for a wind-down period so you can export what you need, and export does not require an active subscription.
After that, the data is deleted from the live system and leaves the backups within 30 days.
Refunds
Payments are not refunded. Once a subscription period has been paid for, that payment stands, and this applies to a workspace subscription, an app added to a workspace, and a capacity pack alike.
What you can always do is cancel. Cancelling stops the next charge, and you keep full access for the period you already paid for, right up to the day it ends. Nothing is switched off early as a consequence of cancelling.
We state it this plainly because a vague refund policy is read as the least generous version of itself anyway, and because this is the paragraph people screenshot. There is no card on the free plan, so nothing here applies until you deliberately add something paid.
The two cases that actually come up
A flat position still has to say what happens in the situations that are not really about a refund at all.
- Charged for a renewal you meant to cancel: the charge stands, and the cancellation takes effect for the following period. Cancel at any point before a renewal date and no further charge is taken.
- A workspace suspended for breaking the Acceptable Use policy: no refund of the period in progress.
- We charged you for something you did not buy, or charged you twice: that is a billing error, not a refund question. Tell us and we will correct it.
Returns
There is nothing to return. The platform is a subscription to a hosted service, so no goods change hands and no licence key needs handing back. Ending it is the cancellation above and nothing more.
Billing is per workspace
One company with several workspaces holds several subscriptions, and they do not pool. Cancelling one leaves the others running, which is usually what people want and occasionally a surprise, so it is worth stating here as well as on the pricing page.
The free plan
The free plan takes no card and therefore has nothing to cancel or refund. It does not expire, and it does not become a trial that ends.
If we got the billing wrong
If you were charged incorrectly, write to support@execcortex.com with the invoice, and we will fix it. A genuine billing error is not a refund question and is not subject to whatever the policy above turns out to be.
